Experimental Study on Mechanical Properties of Shear Square Section Steel Tube Dampers

چکیده

Based on the excellent performance of shear metal dampers in building seismic capacity, traditional damper was optimized. A double-sided steel tube with simple structure, easy replacement, and wide application is proposed. In order to study influence different design parameters its performance, taking length, height, width, thickness, connection mode as variables, five groups 15 specimens were designed for experimental research, failure modes, characteristic loads displacements, hysteretic curves, skeleton stiffness degradation energy dissipation capacity each specimen analyzed detail. The test results showed that curves full good. greater thickness was, load-bearing larger hysteresis loop area were. width equivalent was. As displacement amplitude increased, a downward trend. two modes had their own advantages disadvantages, reasonable form would need be selected according actual engineering needs.
